Main Duties:

  • Oversees the hotel operations during the General Manager absence.

*Strategic*

  • Drive entrepreneurial approach, ensure divisional resources are aligned to successfully implement the hotel annual growth strategy and accomplish our Purpose.

  • To promote innovation through Design Thinking initiatives.

  • Embed Hyatt’s Purpose of Care by enabling colleagues to be their best.

  • Participate in the coordinated Annual Business Plan process.

  • Ensure that the divisional activities are aligned with the Corporate Strategy, and that the Hotel Actions have been implemented where appropriate.

  • Work with the Executive Chef and Director of Restaurants in the preparation and activation and regular review of the F&B Marketing toolkit.

  • Schedule regular Hyatt Thrive initiatives that will contribute to the hotel being recognized within the local community.

_Administration_

  • Ensures that each section of your respective division is managed efficiently, maximizing utilization of technology and promoting paperless working environment.

  • To conduct regular departmental communications meetings and also chair Hyattalks in absence of the General Manager and ensure that departmental briefings and meetings are effective and conducted as necessary.

  • To ensure the smooth operation of the assigned F & B Outlets and Events.

_Customer Service_

  • To ensure that all associates deliver the brand promise and provide exceptional guest service at all times.

  • To ensure that all associates are well versed with World of Hyatt program and have attended respective training.

  • To build and deliver brand-led experiences that will contribute to exceeding hotel NPS and customer services scores.

  • To ensure associates are making full use of the GEM program.

  • To ensure that associates also provide excellent service to internal customers in other departments as appropriate.

  • Meet and greet all important VIPs together with or on behalf of the General Manager and assist them in any possible ways during their stay.

  • Establish detailed procedures for the timely follow-up of all guest comments/complaints. Handle all serious complaints received from clients and take conciliatory actions where possible.

_Financial_

  • To maximize associate productivity through the use of multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling to meet the financial goals of the business as well as the expectations of the guests.

  • To ensure that each assigned profit centre is operated in line with maximizing profit while delivering on the brand promise.

  • To ensure that each cost centre operates with the lowest possible cost structure while also delivering on the brand promise to the guest.

  • To assist in the preparation of the Annual Business Plan for the hotel.

  • To assist in the monthly reforecasting, involving the respective Outlet Managers as appropriate.

  • To proactively manage costs based on key performance indicators, working through the respective Outlet Managers as appropriate.

  • To ensure that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to financial record keeping, money handling and licensing are adhered to.

  • To assist in the inventory management and ongoing maintenance of hotel operating equipment and other assets.

  • To actively participate in weekly yield and revenue management meetings, overseeing the appropriate pricing structures to maximize yield and overall profits in Outlets.

  • To be responsible together with the Director of Finance that the credit policies and procedures are adhered to.

*Marketing*

  • Ensure brand standard requirements are met according to the Brand “Grand”- organize yearly internal audit for the hotel.

  • Looks for Marketing and Public Relations opportunities to increase awareness and ultimately business.

_Operational___

  • Oversees the Guest Signature Touch Point experience from check-in to check-out for all guests, working through each Head of Department to ensure a seamlessly perfect guest experience and make adjustments where necessary.

  • Implement VIBB Touchpoints.

  • Frequently tour both Front of the House and Back of the House areas of the hotel checking standards of cleanliness, maintenance, visibility and security.

  • Work closely with the Director of Engineering to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to maintain the upkeep of the hotel.

  • To ensure the assigned Food and Beverage Outlets are managed in line with the original concept of each respective venues.

  • To ensure that all company minimum brand standards have been implemented, and that optional brand standards have been implemented where appropriate.

  • To monitor all operations, especially during peak business periods, working through the respective Outlet Managers to make adjustments where necessary.

  • Review feedback on the results of the Hysat, nBA, Trip Advisor and other social media sites and to ensure that the F&B venues are recognized by our guest both in house and from the local community.

  • To work closely with Leadership Committee members and other Department Heads in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests.

  • To work closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing on all aspects pertaining to overall Marketing communications of the venues and Dining Hub of Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi.

  • To make sure that the assigned Food and Beverage Outlet’s associates work in a supportive and flexible manner with other departments, in a spirit of team work.

  • To make sure that all associates are up to date with the availability of seasonal and new products on the market.

  • To work closely with the Executive Chef and Venues’ Chef de Cuisine to ensure quality, consistency and food direction in line with the concept of the respective venues.

  • To taste and monitor the food and beverage products served throughout the operation, providing feedback where appropriate

_Personnel_ _ _ * To support the company purpose at all time with the aim of driving up employee engagement scores.

  • To assist in the recruitment and selection of all the assigned Food and Beverage Outlet’s associates. To make sure that Outlet Managers follow hotel guidelines when recruiting and use a competency-based approach to selecting their associates.

  • To oversee the punctuality and appearance of all Food and Beverage associates, making sure that they wear the correct uniform and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, according to the hotel and department’s grooming standards.

  • Frequently tour both Front of the House and Back of the House areas of the hotel checking standards of cleanliness, maintenance, visibility and security.

Qualifications:
* Ideally with a university degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism management. Minimum 2 years work experience as Director of Rooms or Front Office Manager in larger operation. * Good problem solving, administrative and interpersonal skills are a must.
