The Event Sales Manager is responsible for selling and servicing events in our Local/Social Market. Primary sales efforts include proactively prospecting, building long-term relationships with our local clientele, creative menu planning and facilitating event services with our Operations team.
Duties also include contract negotiation and facilitating communication before, during and post event with pertinent hotel staff to ensure highest levels of service. The Event Sales Manager will have a strong focus on exceeding hotel events revenue goals and will be able to solicit and secure new business for the hotel through a variety of prospecting initiatives. The Event Sales Manager will have knowledge of the local marketplace and will be successful in developing long-term relationships within the community to strengthen and expand sales opportunities. Once a booking is confirmed, the Event Sales Manager will be responsible for planning and facilitating all aspects of the event while acting as the liaison between the hotel and customer.
The Event Sales Manager will participate in hosting hotel tours, sales calls and attend client events. As a skilled negotiator, the Event Sales Manager will be able to use their creative selling abilities to close business for the hotel, while selling against our competition. The successful candidate will also be able to implement Hyatt’s brand strategy in to all areas of the sales process and will be successful in driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence through the experiences they create for each client.
The Event Sales Manager participates in event meetings and works as a team member with the Sales and Events Department. - A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
- Refined verbal and written communication skills
- Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
- Candidates should be extremely detail oriented and organized
- Prefer a minimum of two years hotel events/sales experience, with knowledge of the Local/Social marketplace in Calgary
- Hospitality Degree or completion of an Event Management trainee program is certainly an asset
